[00:06] Teaching is a rewarding career, especially at the college level, where students are engaged and hungry for new knowledge, experiences and opportunities.

[00:19] But that doesn't mean being an educator doesn't come with its own unique challenges. The California Community Colleges system is one defined by collaboration and support.

[00:29] A tight knit community where your colleagues are more than coworkers, but a support system of mentors, champions and friends.

[00:40] The support that's been available to employees, as we have established five employee resource groups that really help provide support and community for our employees, both on campus and outside of campus. And so those five employee resource groups support our employees who self-identify as Black or African American, Latinx, Latina, Asian, Asian-American, Two-spirit, LGBTQIA plus, as well as all employees who self-identify as black, indigenous, and people of color or BIPOC.

[01:14] And so I think that's been a tremendous support for for folks, especially folks from marginalized communities, to be able to find, community, and within the workplace as well as outside of the workplace.

[01:27] I work at the Native American Resource Center, NARC has been a big part of my healing journey and, helping me, you know, walked right past. It's just a big community, a big family. And we all come together and, we talk about things, you know, we, help each other with school work.

[01:42] You know, we just we're all walking this path together and trying to help each other in our healing journey, and that's really what it is. It provides resources and, all aspects of in school and outside of school.

[01:55] Like transportation computers, food vouchers, book vouchers, all these things that you kind of need just to get around in school and to be successful in school, which are best to provide these resources as, as well as the healing in their journey, in their path.
