JOB SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity for an HVACR Mechanic and BMS Technician Coordinator position located at our campus in Menifee, CA.

Under the general direction of the Dean of Facilities Planning, Capital Construction & Support Services or designee, the HVACR Mechanic & BMS Coordinator performs skilled journey-level tasks in the installation and maintenance of HVACR equipment and controls. The incumbent performs tasks relating to, but not limited to the repair, maintenance and installation of gas-fired and electric air conditioning and boilers, centrifugal equipment, pumps, VFD's, reach-in refrigeration and ice machines and requires a strong background in electrical circuitry, HVACR diagnostics and BMS Controls.

The incumbent also performs tasks relating to general maintenance work, preventative maintenance work and Facilities related project coordination activities.; not solely specific to HVACR activities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This position serves District-Wide; applicants may be assigned to any district facility. Work hours and worksite locations are subject to change depending on department needs.
A six-month probationary period must be successfully completed before the selected candidate is considered a permanent employee of the district.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. A high school diploma or GED; AND
2. Three (3) years of specialized experience in HVACR BMS/EMS Controls; AND
3. Three (3) years of Facilities related Project Management; AND
4. Five (5) years of specialized training or experience that will demonstrate achievement of journey-level skill in the following trade: HVACR; AND
5. Possession of an EPA 608 Universal Certification; AND
6. Proven experience as a BMS operator.; AND
7. Working knowledge of BMS, HVAC, lighting, building automation.
8. Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
9. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
10. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

SPECIAL NOTES
Journey-level is defined as:
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program (Holding a Journeyman's Card); OR
- State license C-20; OR
- Five (5) years of experience in the HVACR trade verified in writing by a full journey-level individual, plus documented work experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Five (5) years of professional experience with EMS (Energy Management Systems)/BAS (Building Automation Systems)
2. Possession of C-20 license
3. Five (5) years of Facilities related Project Management
4. Knowledge Sheet metal, and Water treatment
5. Possession of HVACR Certificate equivalent to AA or BA.
