POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Compton Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty position to teach courses with emphasis in Sociology.

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in sociology; OR

Bachelor's degree in sociology; AND Master's degree in anthropology, any ethnic studies, social work, or psychology; OR

The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above, must complete the supplemental page of the district application and explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR

Valid California Community College Credential in appropriate subject.

Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Incorporated within one or more of the previously mentioned essential functions of this job description are essential physical requirements. The chart below indicates the percentage of time spent on each of the following essential physical requirements.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

HOURLY RANGE: $44.79 - $72.27 (depending upon education and experience)

Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District.

Part time teaching assignment(s).
